“I like Marie-Claire Pajeile’s paintings. First of all, they’re like a child’s dream: the memories of a bygone time. Her characters move, anonymous and ordinary, in a simple and contemporary fashion. They seem happy with their condition, satisfied with the world around them. Her paintings are strong and colorful and reveal the permanency of our state. The world goes its own way, changes. Men and women remain the same. Their symbolism varies little.

Marie-Claire Pajeile’s characters are on the move. They’re immediately recognizable. They’re timeless. They walk past, look in ironical and distant. Their role is to be witnesses.

She brings out light from obscurity. The image she suggests is that which we are looking for in ourselves. The canvas, the focus of perfect interactions of harmonious encounters, becomes emptiness and plenitude.”
